Toni Bou wins the first world Trials Event

Toni Bou was the winner of this Sunday’s test, which starts a new edition of the World Outdoor Trials Championship in Luxembourg. The current champion had to make an enormous effort on a slippery and particularly difficult track, especially during the first round.
His teammate in the Repsol Montesa-HRC team, Takahisa Fujinami, led part of the test and finished the first round equalling Toni Bou’s 25 points. In the second round, the Japanese rider made some mistakes which while they did make him lose his chances of taking the victory, did not prevent him from making it to the podium. The results by Bou, World classification leader, and Fujinami, have placed Montesa at the top of the brand classification. Laia Sanz, who yesterday dominated the first test of the Female World Championship, finished thirteenth among the participants of the World Junior Cup. The second test for points in the World Trials Championship will be held next Sunday 6th April in Bangor (Ireland).Toni Bou,It was a very tough trials contest where we found it very hard adjusting the bike to the conditions of the track, as it was very slippery. The team did a great job and this victory was the best reward. Adam Raga put pressure on us again and made his intentions clear. We can expect an exciting championship. We have made a good start, and as I always say, let’s go step by step.Takahisa Fujinami, I made it to the top places during the test but during the second round I didn’t do things properly. Even so, it wasn’t a bad result as making it to the podium is always important. The best part is that I’ve seen that I’m in good enough shape to win, and therefore I can still aspire to the title.
