Marc Márquez ends the pre-season with a new best time

Today, the three-day test scheduled at the Jerez circuit has ended and with it the 2010 pre-season. As happened yesterday and on Saturday morning, Marc Márquez clocked up the best time in the 125cc category, confirming that he has adapted well to the new machine and team, ending his time in Jerez with the best time of the day at 1 minute, 46 seconds and 560 milliseconds.

Ready for next week, when the MotoGP World Championship arrives in Qatar to open the official season, the winter tests have finished with excellent sensations for Marc Márquez. The Repsol rider has adapted perfectly to the Derbi RSA and today, he was the fastest in the 125cc category again, after completing 34 laps and stopping the clock at under one minute and 47 seconds. Márquez, who rode a long stint of 15 laps, simulating practically the entire duration of a race, rode consistently and at an excellent pace, ending his pre-season with good feelings.

After completing all the work scheduled for this three-day test, Márquez went back to his garage at lunchtime and although it started raining at around two o’clock, the weather did not upset his test plan. The Repsol rider ended the pre-season on a high note, demonstrating excellent form for the start of the World Championship and an optimum level of adaptation to both the mechanics of the Derbi RSA and the new team that accompanies him this year.

Marc Márquez, 1’46.560 sec, 34 laps, 151 km.
“Today, we’ve done 34 laps; just enough to run in the engine, warm up a little and hold a half-race simulation of 15 laps. I managed to set a good pace and achieved the best time again. The conclusions are very positive because I was able to do five laps at 1 minute and 46 seconds and the rest at low to mid 47, which is a very good pace. Both the team and I are very happy with the work done because it has been very good throughout the pre-season. We haven’t had any falls, except one unimportant fall at the Circuit de Catalunya because of a puddle and I’ve felt confident with this machine. We haven’t had any races for a long time but we’re about to start and I’m ready for Qatar”.
