Toni Elias: I like the Mugello layout, its complicated and technical, although we have the advantage that its an Aprilia circuit so well have a good set-up for it.
Valentino Rossi: For me this is always a very big race weekend. The home Grand Prix is special and I think that Mugello is an amazing place. It is very technical, fast and I Iove the way the track rises and falls. My favourite corner is Casa Nuova Savelli. Very many people come from Italy and I was very happy last year to make a good show. This year has been close and fun racing. We had a good battle in Le Mans with Alex and Sete for Mugello I would like to arrive in the front for Mugello! Nicky Hayden: Preview for Mugello? Man, I never even been to Italy before! Ive heard some really good things about the place. The track sounds awesome and Ive heard the crowd is massive and just so into its racing. Like every race this year Im really looking forward to it. Learning a new track and just gettin out there. Ive got some family commin over who will be stayin around till Barcelona. Thatll be fun as well Toni Elias: I like the Mugello layout, its complicated and technical, although we have the advantage that its an Aprilia circuit so well have a good set-up for it. Weve been testing here in March and the results were quite satisfying. I set fast times and was able to find the right settings for my bike. But the temperatures are higher now and that changes everything. Its going to be a complicated weekend because our main rivals, Poggiali, Battaini and Rolfo will be riding at home and that is an additional incentive for them. We are five points ahead in the overall standings, but this is not the most important for me, the most important is to work well with the bike and to give it all in the race to get a good result.’ Fonsi Nieto: ‘Im really looking forward to racing in Mugello and Im very eager but also conscious that its the Italians home race and that it will be a complicated race. At least we have the advantage that this is an Aprilia circuit and that well always have some advantage over Portos and Rolfos Hondas. Mugello has a very long straight and the top speed will be a very important factor. Its also one of the most technical and complicated circuits of the calendar, but one of my favourites as well. Last year I made a good race and finished third. Too bad I missed the podium in Le Mans in the last few moments, but Im satisfied because we seem to have found the right way to follow. The team and I are working very hard and I think that this is helping us to get better results.’ Dani Pedrosa. The race in France was relatively easy because I set a rhythm that nobody was able to follow, I managed to escape and that allowed me to lap all by myself. But its going to be very difficult to escape in Mugello, because its features dont leave many possibilities for it. The races in Mugello are usually in group and the Italian riders are especially motivated because it isnt easy to get the victory there. Theres a lot of championship left, so I just keep on focussed on working and moving forward, step by step, race by race.
