The 20005 Repsol Honda Team, officially presented in Jerez.
Max Biaggi and Nicky Hayden, stars of the presentation together with the guest of honour Mick Doohan.
The Repsol Honda Team for the 2005 season with its riders Nicky Hayden and Max Biaggi were presented nearby the circuit of Jerez. After setting the third and sixth fastest times during the second free practice of the Spanish Grand Prix, both Repsol riders unveiled the motorbikes they will be using to fight for the top during this 2005 World Championship to the media. But before Max Biaggi and Nicky Hayden presented their bikes to the media and guests attending the event, Honda HRC, Repsol YPF and GAS used the occasion to pay a deserved tribute to Mick Doohan, five times 500cc World Champion, four of them with the Repsol Honda Team.
Dorna, through its CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta, wanted to contribute to the tribute as well, defining the Australian rider as a born winner with an impressive sports career. Tomás García Recio, Advertising and Sponsorship Manager at Repsol YPF, used the occasion to thank Mick Doohan for the titles achieved together during the 1990s and also to openly dissipate the rumours that have been going around lately about the possible doubts of Repsol YPF as regards their competition sponsorship policy.
Tomás García Recio declared also that he hopes that these eleven years of relationship with Honda HRC will be followed by many more between Repsol YPF and the Japanese constructor. Although last year wasnt very good for the Repsol Honda Team on a sports level, Tomás García Recio considers that Honda HRC has done a great effort this year in order to have a winning team, including Erv Kanemoto, and improved bike and a very balanced rider tandem, that will with no doubt contribute a lot of satisfactions this season.
