Dutch GP. Second practice. Driver´s comments

Pedrosa: ‘The bike has improved a lot with regard to yesterday, thanks to the excellent work of the team’.
MotoGP, Valentino Rossi, 1.59´964 sec, 3rd, starting grid position 3rd: Im pretty happy about today. I knew that if the two minute lap was to go it would be Loris! Thats OK! I lost two places from yesterday but this is not a problem today we work very much for the race and I think we have a good set-up. We have found a good rhythm and have good settings. At the end I try to beat the lap time but I made a mistake and the rear tyre we used was too soft. Already on the second lap it starts to spin. I push very hard but it was not possible to go faster. For the race I will use the old pipe because the difference between the old and new pipe is not so great. And also its very difficult to ride the bike and keep concentration with all the noise. MotoGP, Nicky Hayden, 2.00´998 sec, 12th, starting grid position 12th: Today has been pretty good. Every time out there Ive been getting faster and faster. It just feels good when youre constantly going better and better. Its the best Ive qualified for some time and if I can make a good start like I have managed to do with some races this year we should have a good race. I just want to get up there with the fast guys and I feel Ill definitely be able to put up a good fight. Im ready for it. 250. Toni Elias, 2.04´712 sec, 3rd, grid position 3rd: Today Poggiali has set a very fast time. Im happy because I have a good rhythm and the bike feels great. I still have to improve in the last section, but Im lapping close to the pole in the rest of the circuit. The most important thing is that Ive been lapping around 2´05 all day, and that is going to be the rhythm of the race. Im sure that tomorrow Poggiali will try to escape from the beginning of the race. Weve improved a lot since Montmeló, but the other teams improve as well. Were testing a lot of things, but I still have to make some changes in the settings to improve my performance in T4. I managed to improve my times during the last laps but there was so much traffic, that I finally had to give up. Lets hope it doesnt rain tomorrow, although the weather forecasts show quite a complicated situation. Well, if it rains it will be raining for everybody and the race will be a lottery. 250. Fonsi Nieto, 2.04´936 sec, 5th, grid position 4th: Were not sure about the rear tyre for the race yet. Well keep on testing tomorrow during the warm-up in order to improve the rear wheel of the bike. Weve improved with regard to the other races, but we still have several things to test. I wasnt able to improve my time at the end of the session due to the heavy traffic on the track, but the most important is to start from the front row to start well and keep the rhythm of the lead. 250. Sebastián Porto, 2.04´920 sec, 4th, grid position 5th: Im satisfied, its been a very good practice. Yesterday afternoon we noticed that there was a problem with the old frame; we changed a lot of settings this morning and the bike worked quite well. Im also happy with my rhythm; its been very fast today, considering the condition of the bike and thats very important. I hope it will hold on throughout the race. I feel great, looking forward to give it all tomorrow and be as much in the front as possible. 250. Joan Olivé, 2.06´585 sec, 13th, grid position 13th: Im happy, the bike is working well, weve found quite a good setting, I got a fast rhythm and thats important for tomorrow. Weve all done a good job during the practice days and I hope it will be reflected tomorrow in the results. I could have been a bit faster today but it didnt work out. But the most important is the work done and trying to make it as good as possible in the race. 250. Héctor Faubel, 2.07´040 sec, 15th, grid position 15th: We finally found the big problem and from now on were going to start the work all over forgetting about the other races and focussing on this one. Weve had problems for the last four races and thanks to the work of my team and I, weve managed to get a good setting. Today after my last lap I thought that the session had already finished, but there was still a lap left. I was riding fast and managed to complete the lap before the chequered flag, to have another one, but I had already lost one. I thought that it had finished so I didnt try to give it a try for a fastest lap. 125. Dani Pedrosa, 2.10´724 sec, pole, grid position 1st: Im happy despite the crash because this is my first pole position of the season and it is a great satisfaction for my team and me. The bike has improved a lot with regard to yesterday, thanks to the excellent work of the team. No that weve found the right way I hope to be able to keep this level tomorrow. Fortunately the crash was nothing serious and I didnt get hurt. I was riding half a second faster than my best time and I suddenly lost control over the front tyre. 125. Héctor Barberá, 2.11´756 sec, 7th, grid position 9th: A big group with several riders was made up in the last minutes of the timed session; it seemed to be a race and that hindered me from being faster during the last six laps. Then Corsi bothered me during my fast lap. I took him out of his line because he came into mine, but fortunately he only went off the track and didnt crash. Im very satisfied with the setting of the bike; it has worked very well in all aspects. The only thing left was to make a good lap. I hope to choose the right rear tyre for tomorrow, thats the only thing were not sure about yet. Im starting from the third row; Ill try to make a good start and to be in the front. 125. Pablo Nieto, 2.12´000 sec, 9th, grid position 11th: Its not been a positive day for me. I was fast this morning but the engine didnt work well in the afternoon and theres also been a lot of traffic on the track. Well, the important thing is that we know the solution. We have to follow this line and even though Im not happy with todays results, Im happy with the teams work. I only hope that it doesnt rain tomorrow because the race would be a lottery. I have a good setting for the race, especially the chassis, but we still have to improve some things with the engine.
