It is very true that Dani did not win in Portugal, but he did not want to make do with being second either. The victory was very close but in the end the Doctor with the 7 was able to get one over on the student with the 3. We had not seen a race like this one, really hard-fought, for some time in MotoGP. Up to four riders had a chance of fighting for a place on the podium and of winning.
After the bad taste that was left in our mouths in Misano, we went to Portugal perhaps with an even greater desire to get a good result. And this time we did so by getting a balance between the tyres and the bike adapted to the demands of this circuit, where Dani had never been on the podium. We were, just like at every race, seeking the best solutions for the pace that would be set in the race. And on the Friday afternoon we found a good set up. In the end we could not round of the work in the timed session, because of problems with the front wheel. Before the start Dani was sure to have recalled Misano, and so he made a great getaway getting into second place and riding fast. This time we were able to proviide Dani with a great machine that was effective from the start to the end of the race. And he rewarded us with some fantastic moments. In the end he did not win, but he is getting closer and clsoer to doing so.
