The paddling-pool in the pits

You could all see the race in Misano and we all want to forget the bad news, so I am going to explain what happened on the Friday in the first training session, because it was really incredible.

The forecast was showers in the afternoon. But in the first 125cc session there was rain. When the MotoGP bikes went out it looked better. It was raining less heavily and it looked like it was going to end there. But to our surprise, after having serviced the bikes and getting 15 minutes to eat, it began to rain even more heavily. We went back to the pits and it was a sight. The water was beginning to cover the mats. We decided to open the doors to let the water out but the doors were acting as a dam so it was not a good idea. A lot of water got in and it flooded the whole pits. The pit-lane was like a river. We all took our shoes off and we got into ther paddling pool to rescue anything that could be spoiled and then we waited with resignation for the rain to stop. When it cleared up we managed to dry the pits out. We had to make barriers with the wet mats as if they were sandbags, but we got everything dry, clean and everything back in order again. Luckily it did not rain any more.
