Bad memory of Misano

We got to the circuit with a tight schedule on the first day of training. On the Friday we did tests in the wet. There we tried different tyres and different set ups on the chassis.

When we were ready for the second session the deluge arrived. The water entered the pits. We had 20cm of water there. We were forced to half take apart the pits to get the water out, change the mats on the floor, whilst the track had a  curve with 1m of water.

Obviously the training was left for the following day. Saturday morning was sunny. We had a tight schedule again: two consecutive hours in the morning and classification in the afternoon. In the morning we tried different chassis configurations with different types of tyres seeking the best set up to do a good timed session in the afternoon. In the afternoon, without the bike or the tyres really set up, we finished in sixth place  which was not we expected to begin with. After analysing al the data, we made some changes that we tried in the Warm up.

In the Warm up we could see that we had made the right modifications to the bike. We thought then that we were going to fight to win the race. Two days of intense work and the result – just two curves completed. After the results obtained at San Marino our objective is to carry on doing the same: improve in the five races that are left this season, finish in second position and do not lose our desire after the the bad French luck (now two). On the Monday we stayed in San Marino to test tyres and everything we had planned before the rain ruined our plans.
