After the successful day`s racing last Sunday at the Sachsenring, Dani Pedrosa and Nicky Hayden have travelled to Laguna Seca with an extra dose of motivation as they now know that the Honda RC212V is once again more than competitive. Dani Pedrosa, who had a great weekend at this track last year – second in spite of it being his first ever race at Laguna Seca – will want to get another victory having tasted the winner`s champagne after his first victory this season. For Nicky Hayden, returning to Laguna Seca means going back to a circuit where he has won the last two seasons, cheered on by his compatriots and his fans. The rider from Kentucky knows that his position in the classification gives him no chance of getting into the title fight and so the rider in the Repsol Honda Team will tackle the rest of the 2007 season with the objective of getting podium finishes and victories.
At the moment Dani Pedrosa occupies third position in the general classification, 20 points behind Valentino Rossi – second – and 52 behind the leader Casey Stoner. Nicky Hayden is ninth, 123 points behind the Australian.
