Andrea Dovizioso opens a Repsol station service in Italy

The small Italian town of San Bellino, halfway between Bologna and Venice in the north-east of the country, became a meeting place for Italian racing fans yesterday as they had a chance to greet the Repsol rider Andrea Dovizioso in person. The Repsol rider went to the opening of the Spanish multinational company`s new service station there, and after an act in the Town hall with the local authorities and Repsol Italia, he was shown the premises and met the fans that had congregated there.

Dovizioso, born in Forlimpopoli – 150km to the south of San Bellino – was received together with the Managing Director of Repsol Italia, Patricia Borghini, by the local authorities in the Town hall. When the Repsol rider left he was surrounded by a crowd of fans who wanted to meet him, he then got on a Honda Fireblade CBR 1000 RR, decorated in the Repsol MotoGP colours, and rode to the new service station where he had the honour of being the first ever customer there. Some of the many fans that went to the new service station had their photograph taken with the Repsol rider during the scheduled autograph session where he signed a large number of posters with his face on.

Afterwards he cut the traditional ribbon that signalled the official opening of the service station, the first to be completely designed and built by Repsol Italy, one which adds to the more than 150 already in operation in Italy. This event is part of the Spanish company`s objective of opening service stations all over italy.

Andrea Dovizioso
“I am impressed by the number of fans that have come to see me and it is always good to meet them face-to-face. I would like to thank them all for their warm reception, and Repsol and the local authorities for this event. I was already aware that the company was growing in Italy as more and more service stations are opening. There is even one near my home town, in Forli, and I am proud to be a small part of this project.”
