Marc Márquez finishes his first tests of the year with positive sensations

After two testing day at the Catalunya Circuit, Marc Márquez has started his preparation for the 2011 World Championship, starting next March 20th in Qatar. The Repsol rider with the only aim to get on the bike and recover his feeling on track, concluded this first contact of the year very satisfied.

Training in winter has its risks and this morning, fog and low temperatures combined at the Catalunya Circuit to prevent the riders to take the track until noon. At nine in the morning, the track barely reached 3ºC, and three hours later everything seem to sign that it would be impossible to test. Nevertheless, the fog disappeared slowly, the sun warmed the track and Marc Márquez, always accompanied by a cautious Emilio Alzamora, was able to complete a positive test.

With the asphalt at around 20ºC, Marquez took the track at two in the afternoon to complete 32 laps. Those runs allowed the Repsol rider to continue with his adaptation process with good vibes about both his bike and his new team. The rider from Cervera has then finished this two days of test in the Catalan track before starting the pre-season next February 10th in Valencia.

“In the morning it didn’t look too well, but at midday the weather improved a bit and we started to test some things. I am happy with our progression, as the beginning is really important to understand the working method of the team and, at the same time, for them to understand my riding. It is the only way we will be able to progress, although the pre-season is long and we still have a huge margin to improve. The two testing days were very productive and we achieved the objectives we had set ourselves. Now we will go to Valencia to continue with the development of the bike and with our adaptation to the class. We will need to do many kilometres to arrive to the first race ready. The assessment of this two days of test is positive and we increase our confidence day by day”.
