Laia Sanz wins the first round of the European Championship

The Repsol rider dominated the round that inaugurated on Saturday in Rome a new edition of the Females Trial European Championship, where Laia Sanz is still unbeaten since August 2002, when she took the first of her nine consecutive continental titles. With this, the rider has taken part in 32 rounds of the European Championship since 2000. The Champion achieved 29 victories and three second positions.

An impressive track record that Laia Sanz is determined to improve even more, as she showed at the end of the first round of the European Championship where she received no penalties and took an impressive advantage in the first lap over her closest rivals.

The Females Trial European Championship will have two more rounds that will take place on August 20 and 27 in Grosshaubach (Germany) and Tanvald (Czech Republic), respectively.

Laia Sanz:
“When I saw the zones yesterday I thought that I would be able to make the different in very few of them and I supposed the results would be closer. I focused on doing my own race, without thinking too much about the others and trying not to make any mistakes, which can always make things difficult with those conditions. I think that the double zero and the final result show that we did a good job. I felt comfortable and it is the best way to start the defence of a title that, together with the World Championship, is one of my aims for this season “.
