1-2 for the Repsol riders in the Trial World Championship

Toni Bou achieved a new victory in Andorra, followed by his team mate at the Repsol Montesa Honda, Takahisa Fujinami, who finished second

Toni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami finished in first and second place, respectively, at the Andorran Trial Grand Prix. With this triumph, the Spaniard has already four of the five possible victories, increasing to 15 points his advantage in the lead of the overall standings.

Both the several times Champion and Fujinami set big differences in the first lap to a very tough route. After this result, the Japanese rider keeps the fourth place in the World Championship, six points behind the third. The complaint of a rival team that alleged irregularity in Fujinami’s bike was rejected by the organizers and did not affect the results of the round.

Laia Sanz was eleventh in the Junior category, his best result of the season in this class.

The sixth round of the Trial World Championship will take place on July 10th at the Italian city of Montecrestese.

Toni Bou
“To win is never easy, but today I was able to finish the first lap with a good advantage that allowed me to face the last one more calmly and enjoy the bike and the race. I have four victories in five races and we are defending the title in the best way possible, but for now I do not want to think in anything else apart from going step by step and try to get the best possible results”.

Takahisa Fujinami
“A good result in a very tough round, due to the terrain and the heat. But I do not feel well. We have been accused of changing the bike’s exhaust and for 15 or 20 I was excluded. All work and effort for nothing… In the end it was proved that the paint mark had been erased in part by the high temperature generated by our 4-stroke bikes and we recovered the result”.

Laia Sanz
“I made a couple of mistakes and without them I could have finish three or four positions ahead, but I am not going to complaint because the result was satisfactory. I have always felt comfortable in this terrain, they are technical areas, without steps, that require a lot of work and I took full advantage of this chance”.
