After the joint success of Repsol YPF and Mitsubishi in the Dakar and the Raid World Championship, the excellent relationship between both companies gets even closer
Since the first agreement signed by Repsol YPF and Mitsubishi Motors to face the Dakar 2005 together, followed by a new victory of the team with the largest sports record in the class, the good feelings between both companies have not stopped to grow, and were even endorsed by another victory of the Repsol Mitsubishi Ralliart Team at the Dakar 2006. This good relationship has now lead to the recently signed agreement between MMCE (Mitsubishi Motors Spain) and the oil company, according to which Repsol YPF will also be sponsoring the complete Spanish competition programme of Mitsubishi Motors.
Repsol YPFs participation in Mitsubishis single-make EVO CUPs this season has meant a decisive backing for a sports programme that started three years ago and has been becoming more popular every season. The aim of this formula is to reward and stimulate competition and the performance of the drivers participating at the wheel of a three-diamond-make car in one of the different Spanish gravel, asphalt or off-road rally series.
This new push given by the arrival of Repsol YPF has not only consolidated Mitsubishis competition programme in Spain but also its long-term stake that will be reflected in higher service support and compensation for all teams and drivers who enter the Japanese’s make cup.
