The Repsol rider signed the fastest time in a day where the second free practice was cancelled
The Motorland Aragon track was today the scene of an atypical first practice day, as due to a power shortage the second free practice session was cancelled. Despite that, Marc Márquez had enough time in the first session to show the good feeling with which he starts the Aragon round, as he set the fastest time of the day with 1 minute, 54 seconds and 857 thousandths.
The Repsol rider was able to take advantage of the job he did last weekend at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste to be from the beginning among the fastest Moto2 riders. In his first visit to the Aragon track with the intermediate category, Márquez felt comfortable from the first time he took the track. Without any major changes to the set-up of his bike, Emilio Alzamora’s pupil improved gradually and was finally the fastest of the day.
With this result, Marc Márquez starts in a good way this new World Championship round at Motorland Aragon, marked by the cancellation of the second free practice session due to a power shortage. To compensate the lost time, the riders will have half an hour more on track in tomorrow’s free morning session: from 11:00 to 12:15, while the qualifying session will take place at the scheduled time.

“I felt comfortable from the beginning, everything went well and I like this track. It is obvious that tomorrow everyone will improve, but it is good for us to be in front from the start. We will try to keep the same level during the weekend and tomorrow we will keep improving in some areas. In any case, it is important to have a good base today. A free practice session was cancelled and that makes us lose some time to look for a good set-up, but we started very well”.
