The Repsol rider remains undefeated in the FIM 2012 X-Trial World Championship after achieving his fourth consecutive win. Fujinami finished just outside the podium, in a well-deserved fourth plac.e
Current X-Trial World Champion Toni Bou continued tonight in Madrid his string of victories in the 2012 World Championship. The Repsol rider achieved in the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid his fourth consecutive victory of the season in a very close round that was not decided until the last zone. Fujinami, still suffering the consequences of a crash during testing this week, finished just outside the podium, in fourth.
The night started at the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid with the Repsol 2012 Team launch. Immediately afterwards, Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa, Marc Márquez and the rest of riders passed the baton to the Repsol rider and ten times Trial World Champion Toni Bou. The crowd enjoyed the difficulty of the round’s zones and the winner was not decided until the last zone of the finale. Bou showed once again his amazing level, as he was the only rider able to overcome the zone, signing a new triumph in a festive night from beginning to end.
His team mate at the Repsol Montesa Honda, Takahisa Fujinami, offered a good show in Madrid. The Japanese rider, still from an injury he received this week while training, set two points more than Albert Cabestany in the semi-finals and signed the fourth overall position. After today’s result, Bou leads the overall standings without having lost one point in the championship up to now.
With Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and Marc Márquez as extraordinary spectators, the Repsol rider passes the halfway point of the Championship undefeated after this round. Without time to rest, Bou will compete in the first of the three last rounds next weekend —March, 11th— in Palma de Mallorca.
Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner handed out the awards in the podium ceremony, thus rounding out a complete day for Repsol.

“There is still a lot to do to secure the title, but we are in the good way. Today it was a very special race because it took place in Madrid, because there is Repsol, who is our main sponsor. That meant extra pressure to win and also Adam Raga made things difficult and we had to fight until the last zone. In the end everything was perfect and for the Championship we have 4 wins in 4 rounds. Nevertheless, we don’t have to look beyond the next race, in Majorca. There are still many qualifyings, semi-finals, a lot of zones and we need to try not to fail and then lose all the points in one shot. We have done everything slowly and faultlessly. Everything is as we dreamt and I’m very happy”.

“My shoulder still hurts from the crash I had last Tuesday when I was training, that is why today’s fourth position is a good result, and even more if we take into account that I only finished 2 points behind the third. The atmosphere was amazing and I am very happy despite having missed the final by so little”.
