Second consecutive 1-2 for the Repsol riders

Toni Bou achieves his tenth victory of the season and Takahisa Fujinami finishes second in the first day of the British Grand Prix.

With the World title already secured since the last Italian Grand Prix, Toni Bou did not reduce his effort and made his debut at the British Grand Prix with yet another win, the tenth of the twelfth rounds held this season. His team mate Takahisa Fujinami, accompanied him on the podium thanks to his second place. With this result, the Repsol riders repeated the 1-2 they achieved in the last round held three weeks ago in Italy.

The first day of competition in Penrith (Gran Bretaña) started with Toni Bou leading the classification since the first lap on the demanding zones, made even more difficult by the intermittent rain. At the end of the day, the Repsol rider finished again a World Championship round on top of the overall standings, while his team mate, Takahisa Fujinami, fought for the second place with Adam Raga and Jeroni Fajardo. Finally, the Japanese rider was able to beat his rivals thanks to a second lap that placed him in the second step of the podium.

The British competition will continue tomorrow with the second and last day of the British Grand Prix, which will put an end to the Outdoor Trial World Championship.

Toni Bou
“With the Championship already decided, today was a different day for me. I competed without any kind of pressure in a trial of the kind I like, with a lot of difficulty. I made some foolish mistakes, but I achieved a victory that makes me feel very satisfied”.

Takahisa Fujinami
“I am happy with this second place and with the second consecutive 1-2 of the team. In the second lap I improved a lot and scored the same points as Toni. Pity I had made some more mistakes in the previous lap and I was not able to recover those points”.
