Marc Marquez is the first rider to win five races in his rookie premier class season.

Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa have taken four podium doubles this season, at Austin, Jerez, Indianapolis and Brno.

Silverstone is the only remaining track on the calendar at which Alex Marquez has not ridden.

Top two riders in MotoGP, Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa, head to Silverstone off the back of a second one-two in as many weeks. In Moto3, Alex Rins and Alex Marquez will attempt to battle for the podium once more.

With barely time to catch their breath, the MotoGP riders head to Silverstone this weekend for round twelve of the season. The Repsol Honda Team riders come into the British Grand Prix in great form, having taken consecutive one-two finishes at the last pair of events. Rookie Marc Marquez has been dominating the premier class as of late, with four wins in a row and a total of five this season –new records in the World Championship.

Teammate Dani Pedrosa performed well in the Czech Republic, and has a few more days of rest before the British round in which to recover from his left collarbone injury. Pedrosa will be in even better shape this weekend and should be fit to fight for the win again at Silverstone.

In Moto3, Alex Rins and Alex Marquez will have a new challenge on their hands, in the form of the 5.9km circuit. Silverstone is the only track at which Marquez has yet to ride and Rins will attempt to improve upon his result from last year –in which he was taken out by another rider and could not finish the race. Rins was just off the podium at Brno, for the first time in any race that he has completed in 2013.

Dani Pedrosa

“After Brno I’m feeling pretty good and my physical condition is improving all the time, so I hope we can take another step this weekend in Silverstone. It is a tough and fast track with many changes of direction and we need a good set to suit both the fast and slow corners. Last year was a hard race so I hope to be strong again this year! In the UK you never know what the weather will do so let’s hope for good conditions from the start.”

Marc Marquez

“We will see how Silverstone is with MotoGP, in 125cc I enjoyed it a lot but in Moto2 I struggled a little. I think a key factor will be the weather there as it can change quite a lot! Last year Lorenzo had a very good race so I am sure he will be strong. But we are coming off four victories in a row, we have good momentum and I feel really comfortable and confident on the bike. Let’s see how the situation is when we get there and as always work hard from Friday morning!.”

Alex Rins

“Silverstone is a good track and I liked it a lot last year. It is a very long circuit, with various straights in which slipstreaming plays an important role. In between two straights there is a section which is a little more twisty, with a series of corners that resemble three chicanes in succession, and if you go through there fast then you can gain an advantage in the second part. It will be a difficult race, but we will try to have a great weekend, adapt as soon as possible and keep up the good work from the last few races. We are very motivated, because we won at Germany and Indianapolis and practice at Brno went really well. I can’t wait to race again this weekend.”

Alex Marquez

“This is going to be a completely new track for me, because I haven’t even been to Silverstone to watch my brother race. However, it’s the final track on the calendar at which this is the case. From what I gather, it is a tricky circuit and very hard to learn, but we are convinced that we will continue with the same mentality that we have had up until now. We will have the same motivation and will continue working as hard as at previous tracks, so I think we can be up with the frontrunners.”
