Toni Bou finished the indoor season undefeated

The Repsol Montesa Honda Team rider won the last round of the season in Oviedo, Spain, and ends the FIM X-Trial World Championship unbeaten after five victories.

After securing two weeks ago his eighth Indoor World Championship title –all of them consecutive, Toni Bou wanted to finish in style and yesterday evening won the fifth and last round of the series. At the Oviedo Indoor Trial, the X-Trial 2014 World Champion offered an exhibition of balance and riding and did not leave any chance to his rivals. The Repsol rider increased to 41 his win tally at the FIM X-Trial World Championship –the last 26 of them consecutive, a streak that started in Barcelona on January 31st, 2010– and finished the championship unbeaten, as he had in the last three editions.

Yesterday Bou finished the Qualifying lap with no points and also closed the semi-final in first position, tied with the second-place with 6 points. In the final lap, the rider from Piera –Barcelona– showed his dominance and completed it with 0 points. His team mate, Takahisa Fujinami, was the first to go out in the qualifying and was not able to pass the first phase.

With no time to rest, Toni Bou will start his outdoor season tomorrow, Sunday, in Sigüenza, where it will take place the first round of the Spanish Championship, a series he has won the last three years.

Toni Bou:

“Winning is addictive and the more you have it, the more you enjoy it and want to have more. I am lucky enough to live and enjoy such especial moments. I have been winning all the rounds in this championship for four years, 26 consecutive victories. It is clear that we have worked a lot and well and the best reward is this, to be able to enjoy these moments. From now on, we are going to focus on the outdoor season, with the same will to win even more titles”.

Takahisa Fujinami:

“Very bad, I have no more explanations. I was the first to go out; I started bad and got the worst result in the last indoor round. I will try to forget about it and concentrate on the outdoor season, where I am convinced everything will go better”.
