The sixth and last round of the 2015 FIM X-Trial World Championship that took place last night in Oviedo finished with a third place for Toni Bou and more experience for Jaime Busto.
After securing his ninth title a week ago in Austria, Toni Bou finished the 2015 X-Trial World Championship yesterday in Oviedo with a new podium. The Repsol Honda Team rider set the best score at the semi-final, but a mistake in the first zone of the finale conditions the rest of his performance, thus finishing third behind Albert Cabestany and Adam Raga.
His team mate, Jaime Busto, had once again the chance to participate as wild card. In his second race of the X-Trial World Championship, the young rider of the Repsol Honda Team was able to finish with good feelings after ending one of the zones without any penalty. The Basque rider’s performance was positive, despite his lack of experience in this type of competition.
Next week in Mallorca, a new edition of the Spanish Trial Championship will start and the first round of the outdoor World Championship will take place next April 25th in Japan.
Toni Bou, 3rd
“Today it was not a good day for me, which is something that can always happen. I didn’t feel completely comfortable in the zones and, despite finishing the semi-final with the best score, I knew it would not be easy. Starting the finale with a 5 in an easy zone was not the best way, because I wanted to recover and it wasn’t possible. I want to congratulate Albert [Cabestany], who had a good performance and got a well-deserved win. Now we will enjoy the title, which was not easy to win, and start thinking about the outdoor season.”
Jaime Buste, 8th
“I am happy to have been able to compete in another round of the X-trial World Championship. Here in Oviedo I was able to show more of what I’m capable to do than in Barcelona. I think I can do well, but I need to keep learning day by day.”
