A crash prevents Toni Bou from winning while Fujinami finished fourth and Busto sixth.
The second day of the fifth round of the Trial World Championship held today in France finished with a final second place for Toni Bou. Despite completing a perfect third lap, with no penalty, two mistakes during the second lap ended the Repsol Honda Team rider’s winning streak of nine consecutive victories in the 2015 World Championship. He finished in second place in a round where Adam Raga achieved the victory by four points. With this result, Bou keeps the overall lead with an advantage of 34 points over Raga.
After yesterday’s result, Takahisa Fujinami was feeling strong for the second day of competition. The Japanese rider started well, with a determined riding and fighting for the final podium, but several mistakes during the last lap prevented him from repeating the first day’s success and finished in fourth position. After this Grand Prix, Fujinami climbed a position in the World Championship’s provisional classification, where he is now fourth.
The young rider starting in the absolute class, Jaime Busto, had a good start today and was able to be among the top places after presenting a card with few points in the first lap. Nevertheless, the Basque rider could not improve in the second and third pass and finished in sixth position.
The Trial World Championship will continue next week in Andorra, where the sixth Grand Prix of the season will be held at the town of Sant Julia de Loria. The members of the Repsol Honda Team will resume the action at the small Pyrenean country on Saturday 4th and 5thof July.

“It was a pity. The second lap went very bad and I couldn’t recover from those mistakes. I was too eager in zone six and I crashed on zone twelve. In the final lap I fought to be second, because I knew I would not be able to win the race with zones where it was so difficult to recover so many points. If you don’t win, second is the best you can get. Today, Adam [Raga] had his chance in an easy trial, which suits him better than me. It was something that had to happen someday. We’ll fight to be at our best in Andorra, hoping the crash will have no consequences.”
Takahisa Fujinami | 4th, 38 points
“I’m satisfied with my first lap, which I think I did very well. Then in the second and third lap I had some problems that I think I was able to solve quite well. I was fighting for a place on the podium, but the fourth position isn’t so bad. I feel well physically and technically too, as I fought for the podium in the last races.”
Jaime Busto | 6th, 42 points
“Today I was more consistent than yesterday. The zones barely changed and I was in the group fighting for podium together with Fujinami, Cabestany… I think I didn’t do it bad, but I could have improved in the last laps.”
