Another double win for Toni Bou in the Trial World Championship that allows him to increase his advantage in the lead of the championship thanks to his 75th victory.
The Repsol Honda team rider Toni Bou repeated his triumph from Saturday in the United States, thus achieving a double win in the Trial World Championship. The Stepping Stone Ranch –in Rhode Island– saw an impeccable race from the several times World Championship, who won with nearly half the points of the second, Adam Raga. With this victory, the 75th of his career, Bou has 271 points in the overall standings, 34 more than the second place just two rounds before the end of the World Championship.
Bou secured the race after the two first laps, where he was able to build advantage over his rivals with a very effective riding through the complicated zones built in Stepping Stone Ranch. The Repsol Honda Team rider received 26 points, against 50 for Raga and 55 for Fajardo, who accompanied him on the podium.
The Sunday of the USA GP was better for the rest of the Repsol Honda riders. Takahisa Fujinami finished fifth, very close to the fourth, which he missed due to a mistake in one of the zones during the last lap. Jaime Busto closed his first participation in the USA GP with another sixth place. The young Basque rider overcame his gastrointestinal problems that affected him on Satruday ans yesterday, despite making some mistakes, he finished with the fourth best result in the last lap. After this round, Fujigas keeps his fifth overall position and Busto is sixth.
The next Trial World Championship round will take place at the Portuguese town of Paços de Ferreira next September 5th and 6th. It will be the second-to-last race of the World Championship and Toni Bou could secure his ninth World Championship outdoor trial title.

“This weekend went very well. The trial was quite complicated, but I felt very comfortable on the bike. I’m very happy. These two wins give me confidence because I could increase the advantage over my rivals and I’ll be able to have less pressure in Portugal. We wanted to win and the result was perfect. I felt very comfortable in the zones and also thanks to the fact that I trained a lot the “non-stop” during the preseason and here I was able to use what I had practiced during the winter.”
Takahisa Fujinami
5th – 81 points
“The controls were very strict and they even count one zone as a failure because my assistant had blown a stone. Nevertheless, I must admit I made several mistakes. I could have received 10 points less per lap. The result isn’t bad, I finished fifth not too far away from the fourth, but I aimed for the podium. On the positive side, I improved yesterday’s result; on the negative one, I made many mistakes.”
Jaime Busto
6th – 83 points
“I felt much better than yesterday, when it was very difficult for me to ride the bike. I’m satisfied with the result and also with the last lap, which went very well. The zones didn’t change too much from those of Saturday, but then I couldn’t ride well. The last lap went very well, but we need to keep working to improve even more.”
