- The Repsol Honda Team have taken victory at Brno for the last 4 seasons: In 2011 through Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa in 2012 and 2014, and Marc Marquez in 2013.
- Dani Pedrosa has been on the podium on 10 occasions and has 4 victories: 2 in MotoGP (2012 and 2014), 1 in 250cc (2005) and 1 in 125cc (2003).
- Marc Marquez has been on the podium three times at Brno: 2 wins in Moto2 (2012) and MotoGP (2013), and a second place in Moto2 (2011).
Marquez and Pedrosa move on to Czech Republic, where Repsol Honda Team have won for the last four years. After strange race at Indianapolis, Quartararo, Navarro and Herrera return to action this week.
Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez aim to continue their good form in the eleventh round of the MotoGP World Championship, which will be held this weekend in the Czech Republic. Repsol Honda Team riders have achieved victory in the last four races at Brno.
Marc Marquez arrives at the circuit after two consecutive wins at Sachsenring and Indianapolis. The reigning World Champion has finished on the podium three times at Brno, achieving victory in Moto2 in 2012 and 2013 in MotoGP. Dani Pedrosa claimed victory last season at a circuit where he has 10 podiums and 4 wins (in 2003, 2005, 2012 and 2014).
In Moto3, Fabio Quartararo, Jorge Navarro and Maria Herrera will try to leave behind the madness of Indianapolis with a good performance at a circuit that is new to two of them. Jorge Navarro, who already rode there last year, will try to maintain the progression he has shown in recent races.
Free practice will start on Friday at 9:00am local time, with the Moto3 race Sunday at 11:00am and MotoGP at 14:00.
Marc Marquez
“It was a tough race in Indianapolis, very demanding, but I’m really happy to have taken two consecutive wins! We were able to enjoy the victory on Sunday night and now we are already on our way to Brno for the next race. This isn’t one of my favourite tracks and I’ve had mixed results here in the past but we arrive there with good momentum and we will work hard to be ready for a battle!”
Dani Pedrosa
“Although the result was not what we wanted, I learned some things in Indy and enjoyed the battle with Valentino. I felt more comfortable on the bike and now we head to Brno where I won in 2014. This is a track I really like and always have a good feeling there. The atmosphere is special and I hope we can repeat our performance from last year. Let’s hope the weather is good for us and we can work 100% from FP1.”
Fabio Quartararo
“I have to learn the circuit well because it seems to be very difficult. It is similar to Austin, because it has the same type of corners: The chicane, uphill and downhill corners… We will have to adapt to it gradually, but doing our best to keep ahead and go as fast as possible with a good setup for the race. Sometimes I talk to other riders and they teach me some things about tracks, but when I’m on tracking it is totally different and I only think about getting everything right.”
Jorge Navarro
“I like the Brno circuit a lot. It is very flowing with no hard braking and we must maintain a good speed. I think we can adapt, since the Honda chassis works very well. We arrived at a good time and with great momentum. At Indianapolis we did a good job and I think that at Brno, if we keep taking steps forward, we can achieve our goal of fighting with the front group. If we can fight for the podium or something more it would be perfect, but the goal is to continue to evolve and be in the lead group.”
María Herrera
“I arrive pretty strong to Brno. It is a good opportunity to try for a good position where we know we can be. We will have to learn the circuit quickly -as we always do- but raising our demands to get a good pace from the start and continue to evolve. It is a fast track, with climbs and descents, so it could go very well. We will try to learn it quickly and we’ll give everything from the start.”
