Repsol rider joins select group of riders who have achieved 50 victories in the World Championship, after winning the Australian Grand Prix.

Marc Marquez continues to add honours to his resume, with a new milestone reached with victory at the Australian Grand Prix. Aged 22 years and 243 days old, the Repsol Honda rider is the youngest man in history to reach fifty victories in the World Championship. His record consists of 10 wins in 125cc, 16 in Moto2 and 24 in MotoGP, from a total of 130 races since his debut at the Portuguese Grand Prix in 2008. In eight years he has a winning percentage of 38%, a figure that increases when taking MotoGP in isolation: He has achieved victories in 46% of 52 races.

These numbers have led to Marquez earning two MotoGP titles (in 2013 and 2014), one in Moto2 (2012) and one in 125cc (2010) – and he ranks eighth on the list of riders with the most wins in the World Championship, headed by Giacomo Agostini, Valentino Rossi and Angel Nieto. These 50 victories have provided unforgettable moments, such as in Portugal in 2010 – when he won after falling on the warmup lap, Valencia 2012 – when he won from last on the grid in Moto2, and Laguna Seca 2013, to name a few.

This coming weekend, at the Malaysian Grand Prix, Marc Marquez will continue increasing his legacy in motorcycle racing history.
