The 2006 Spanish Grand Prix marked the brilliant debut of Dani Pedrosa in the MotoGP World Championship, with the Repsol Honda Team rider finishing on the podium in his very first premier class race. Since then, Pedrosa has become one of the most successful riders in Grand Prix history, claiming 28 victories in MotoGP (eighth in the all-time list of 500cc and MotoGP racewinners) and 101 podiums (the second highest tally in history). The Spaniard has maintained a special affinity with the Circuito de Jerez, where he has taken nine consecutive podiums between 2006 and 2014. Last year he missed the race through injury, but he returns to the Andalusian track ready to get back on the rostrum –and after giving a demonstration of sportsmanship at the previous round in Austin.
