Riders from all over the world will compete this weekend in the new round of the FIM CEV Repsol, with the aim to be on the first step of the podium and continue their preparation to arrive to the World Championship some day.
The FIM CEV Repsol, a competition known for being the stepping stone to the World Championship, will hold this weekend its fourth round of the season at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit. This time, the Moto3 and Moto2 categories will have two races on Sunday, while Superbike will only have one. As they explain in this video, the rider that stand out now at the World Championship, such as Aron Canet, Nicolo Bulega or Joan Mir, among others, had his learning phase in this competition and they took the big step into the motorcycling elite in 2016 with the best conditions.
After the first three rounds of the FIM CEV Repsol calendar, Marcos Ramirez arrives in Barcelona as leader of the Junior World Championship with an advantage of 15 points; Steven Odendaal leads the Moto2 European Championship with a 23-point advantage, and Maximilian Scheib is on top of the European Superbike Championship with a 9-point lead.
The Repsol Racing Tour at the FIM CEV Repsol
The round in Barcelona will see the presence in the paddock of the Repsol Racing Tour, an itinerant exhibition that brings Repsol’s history closer to the public following the over 45 years in which the company has been committed to motorsports. After nearly two years visiting several Spanish cities, it stops at this FIM CEV Repsol round to show the values Repsol wants to enhance through its motorsports sponsoring: improvement, honour, courage, enthusiasm and determination. In the more than 145sqm of the interactive exhibition, it can be seen, for example, the bike Marc Marquez used to win his first MotoGP World Championship and one of Dani Pedrosa’s competition overalls.
