This weekend, MotoGP hits the only ever-present circuit on the World Championship calendar since it began in 1949. This year will be the first time that Assen has held Grand Prix racing on a Sunday.
The most historic circuit in MotoGP, the “Cathedral of Motorcycle Racing” located next to the Dutch town of Assen, hosts the eighth round of the season this weekend. It is an emblematic venue and, despite the progressive changes made to the track layout over the years, has maintained its charm and legendary character. Santi Hernandez and Ramon Aurin, race engineers for Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa, respectively, talk about some of the keys to one of the fastest circuits on the calendar –where they have fond memories and are expecting tricky weather this year.
