The Moto3 World Championship reaches its halfway mark with Canet in third position and Bastianini in ninth place overall.
Arón Canet, starting from pole position, was hindered by the lack of grip with his tyres and dropped down the field, until his crash on Lap 16 when riding in thirteenth.
Enea Bastianini gained a position on the first lap, although after 8 laps he was down to sixteenth.
Gradually he recovered the pace, leading a group of 13 riders who fought for sixth position. Bastianini won out in that battle at the chequered flag.

“It was fundamental to finish the race, although -as has been happening with me frequently this season- on the first few laps I found it hard to be fast with the new tyres and many riders overtook me. Little by little, I managed to ride better and in the end I was able to ride as I wanted. I managed to overtake many riders on the brakes, and on the last few laps I was able to go very fast. We have to solve the problems we have at the beginning of the races, because we can’t take advantage of the new tyres and lose many positions.”

“I wasn’t comfortable with the hard tyre today. I noticed it since the warmup lap, when I tried to push it. I had no rear grip and it didn’t allow me to accelerate or corner well. I tried to ride in another way, forcing the front more and using the rear brake more, but it proved impossible. Finally, after putting more of a demand on the front tyre, I lost it and we crashed. The positive side is that during the weekend we were able to be fast and that allowed us to achieve pole. Now we have to focus on the next round at Brno and try to solve this kind of issue.”
