Podium positions for Fujinami and Bou at the TrialGP in Japan

The Japanese rider of the Repsol Honda Team took the third place during the first day on Saturday and the current Champion finished second today.

The Motegi Circuit was the scene of the second and third rounds of the Trial World Championship, which finished with a third position for Fujinami yesterday and a second place today for Bou.

The several times World Champion had to settle for fourth place in the first of the two races and today was second, recovering the lead of the World Championship.

Takahisa Fujinami took the third place in yesterday’s race, but today he finished ninth, and sixth in the overall standings.

The next round of the TrialGP World Championship will take place in Andorra on June 17th.

Toni Bou:

“I’m happy to have recovered the good feeling on the bike today. In the end, the weekend wasn’t as bad, mostly because we need to take into account that this year is different for us, because we had an injury that prevented us from keeping the training schedule to prepare the World Championship. It still bothers me and it’s difficult to find the race pace. It’s very complicated, despite achieving a victory in the first race. We’ll keep fighting to recover from the injury and be able to train again in order to fight for this championship, which is very close”.

Takahisa Fujinami:

“After the podium I achieved yesterday, today I wanted to fight again for the top places in the second race at home, but that wasn’t possible. I made too many mistakes in the first lap and, despite doing a good second lap, I couldn’t get much more. I can’t be happy with my position today, even less, here, in Japan, but we’ll fight to improve in the next races”.
