Toni Bou celebrates his 24th title with another victory

The Repsol Honda Team rider closed the Trial GP World Championship with the seventh win of the season. Takahisa Fujinami finished in sixth position.

The ninth round of the season that took place this weekend in Italy finished with the seventh victory for Toni Bou, who secured the Championship title two weeks ago.

Second in the first lap, one point behind the leader, the Repsol Honda Team rider recovered lost terrain during the second pass and secured the win with a three-point advantage over Adam Raga, second today.

His team mate at the Repsol Honda Team, Takahisa Fujinami, was sixth in today’s round, the same position he has in the final overall classification of the championship.

“I’m very happy with my race today. We didn’t start in the best way, but we fought to the end and we achieved it because we had a very good second lap. I only took two penalty points and recovered the good feeling on the bike. I’m very happy to be able to finish the season with a victory. Now we can enjoy this triumph and the World Championship title, because we will soon start to think about the Trial des Nations in which we’ll compete next week. Finally, I want to thank the team doctor, Joaquim Terricabras, and all his medical team who have helped me to recover from my injuries during the season.”

TAKAHISA FUJINAMI | 6th

“Today’s race was quite difficult for me. Obviously, I’m not happy with how it went, but I fought to gain a position in the classification and in the end, I had to settle with the sixth place, both today and in the championship. I kept improving during the season; it was difficult to pick up the pace, after my shoulder injury and having physical problems. Now, with my confidence restored, in the last four races I had a better pace and I’m happier. As Toni, I am also already thinking about the Trial des Nations, in which I will compete for Japan at the Czech Republic.”
