Teammate Alonso López falls at the start of the Thailand Gran Prix when fighting to climb positions.
Jeremy Alcoba put in a great performance as a substitute for the injured Arón Canet; after a good start, the Repsol rider continued to progress lap after lap, finishing 18th.
Alonso López, who started 30th on the grid, managed to climb five positions on the first corner.
On Lap four when attempting to stay with the group contesting the points, he fell at Turn 8.

“In the warm up we changed the swingarm -a change that was very good for me, as it was something I had been struggling with for some races. That made me very motivated. I gained more and more confidence, but when I was climbing up the order and I caught the front group, I leant the bike in too much on a corner and I was thrown into the air. It’s a shame.”

“It was a new circuit for everyone, so I started with the same disadvantage as all the other riders. Up until FP3 we were going well; We were only one second off the fastest rider. However, in qualifying I got nervous and things did not go the way we wanted. In the race, I could have been up there on the first few laps, until Alonso Lopez fell in front of me and I had to hold back so as not to crash as well. That separated me from the group and from there it took me a little longer to get on the pace. I’m happy because I have learned things and, in addition, we have found the points where we have to improve, so we will work on these.”
