Marc Márquez and Jorge Lorenzo will enter the final stretch of their preparation for the 2019 MotoGP World Championship this weekend, taking part in the Official Test in Qatar. They will have three days of testing to assess their fitness and continue with the development of the Honda RC213V.

A few days ago, the pair donned their racing leathers at the team’s official photoshoot. For Lorenzo, Saturday will be the first time that he wears Repsol Honda colours at a circuit, after missing the Sepang test through injury.

In just over two weeks a new MotoGP World Championship season begins, and as the days go by, the preparations for Marc Márquez and Jorge Lorenzo intensify. The new teammates on the Repsol Honda Team are in the final phase of their recovery from their respective injuries, and in Qatar will have three days of testing in which to continue getting ready for the season opener.

Marc Márquez:

“Already we are at the last test before the season starts! I want to ride again to see the progress with my shoulder and continue the work we did in Malaysia. Since then I have continued to work on improving my shoulder because this test is important but my goal is arrive in the best conditions at the first race here in Qatar. The focus is again to test the most important parts for Honda so we can start the season well.”

Jorge Lorenzo:

“I have been focusing a lot on improving my wrist and I’m pleased with the progress. Of course I would have liked to be in a better condition, but I feel we will be able to have a productive test. Of course, first we must understand my condition on the bike. Honda were able to make a lot of progress in Sepang and I’m looking forward to getting back on the RC213V and preparing for the season ahead.”
