The stats for Marc Márquez in 2019 show tremendous dominance and consistency for the six-time MotoGP World Champion

Marc Márquez’ 2019 season will be remembered for the extraordinary solvency he has shown throughout the campaign. The numbers show the superiority of the Repsol Honda Team rider on his journey towards an eight title in twelve seasons -six from seven in MotoGP.

Of the 9 victories he has achieved in 15 races -a more than 50% success rate-, the first win of the year at Argentina stands out as the most comfortable, as Márquez crossed the line with an advantage of 9.816 seconds over his nearest rival. The slimmest victory was at Thailand, when he won by a margin of just 0.171 seconds.

The Repsol Honda Team rider has completed 218 laps in first place thus far in 2019, including 9 opening laps from 15 races. He led from start to finish in Argentina, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic and Aragón, and trailed for only 2 laps in France and 1 in Catalonia. In total, he has made 47 overtaking moves. In terms of tyres, Márquez has most frequently opted for a hard front and a soft rear compund.

Whilst the stats are impressive enough, the Spaniard has also thrilled fans with his performances and shown his unique X-factor this season.
