Fans filled the streets of the Repsol Honda Team rider’s hometown to celebrate both his eighth World Championship and the title won by his brother
In what has become something of a tradition, Marc Márquez shared his eighth World Championship win in his hometown of Cervera this Saturday, with the thousands of fans who flooded the streets once again. The Repsol Honda Team rider was the protagonist, together with his brother Álex, as the pair celebrated their respective MotoGP and Moto2 world titles.
After a press conference held at the University of Cervera, the MotoGP World Champion began a parade uploaded to the float that his fan club had prepared for the occasion. Márquez was accompanied by the family and team members who helped him to become an eight-time World Champion in the 25th anniversary year of the most successful MotoGP team: Repsol Honda.
The party ended, like every year, with the float arriving at a stage from which the rider addressed the fans. Cervera’s most famous citizen is as popular as ever in his hometown as his success continues.
MARC MÁRQUEZ
“It’s always nice to celebrate titles in Cervera, but this year I’m especially excited to be able to do so with my brother Álex, with us both having won World Championships in 2019. It’s eight World Championships that I have now, which is a big achievement that I have to enjoy. 2019 has been my best year in MotoGP and the best of my career; A perfect season that will be very difficult to repeat. In spite of this, next year we will approach things in the same way and with the same objective: To become champions again. Winning gives you more motivation and I am never satisfied -quite the opposite, as I always want more and more. I give one hundred percent in everything I do and that is what has led me to be celebrating another title here with my family, my friends, and most importantly, my fans.”
