The Autódromo do Estoril opens the series with victories for Holgado in Moto3, Roulstone and García Almansa in the European Talent Cup, and Aldeguer in Moto2.

The FIM Moto3™ Junior World Championship saw an exciting opening race in which several riders tried to escape, but four laps from the end a group of up to seven competitors were fighting for the podium. Finally, after leading for most of the race, it was Daniel Holgado who claimed the first victory of the year in the class.

Jacob Roulstone and David García Almansa were the winners in the two European Talent Cup races. In both contests there were close final stages, with the victors decided on the last corners.

In Moto2, Fermín Aldeguer did the double, battling for the win right up to the chequered flag in both races with his teammate, Alonso López, after imposing a pace that stood him out from the rest of the riders.

With these results, Holgado, Aldeguer and Adrián Cruces lead their respective classes of Moto3, Moto2 and the European Talent Cup. The next round of the FIM CEV Repsol will take place on May 9th at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.

DANIEL HOLGADO – Moto3 race winner

“I am very happy about the race, and because we had a very good weekend. I did a good job with the team and I am satisfied with it, so I thank them very much for their efforts. We worked very hard, and I want to thank my family for all their support.”

JACOB ROULSTONE – Winner of European Talent Cup Race 1

“I am very happy and I want to thank my team for their support, as well as all the people who have helped me and my family -especially my mother for living here with me. It was a good race. I had a good start, although I lost some positions on the first corner. Little by little I started to come back. I found a good spot to overtake many riders. It’s a shame that Carpe fell right in front of me, but I’m very happy with this result.”

DAVID GARCÍA ALMANSA – Winner of European Talent Cup Race 2

“It was a good race. I gave it my all. I want to thank my family, my team -who have done a great job this weekend- and especially Jose Estarlich, Paco and Pedro Acosta, who taught me many lines. Thank you very much to everybody.”

FERMÍN ALDEGUER – Winner of Moto2 European Championship Race 1

“I’m very happy. The race was very difficult, because Alonso López was pushing hard, but I’m pleased with the results that we had throughout the week. Thanks to my team, my sponsors and everyone who supports me.”

FERMÍN ALDEGUER – Winner of Moto2 European Championship Race 2

“I am happy because this race was more difficult than the first, as Alonso had a good pace. On the last lap we made contact with each other, but fortunately I came away victorious. I am very happy and I want to thank my entire team, all my sponsors and my family.”
