The 28-time Trial World Champion underwent the operation on Wednesday afternoon at the Mi Tres Torres Clinic in Barcelona, after suffering a fall while training

As a result of a fall in training, Toni Bou has been forced to undergo urgent surgery to reduce the recovery period for an injured left fibula. In the operation, carried out at the Mi Tres Torres Clinic on Wednesday, he underwent osteosynthesis with the attachment of a plate to the injury, in a procedure performed by Dr. Josep Torrent and Dr. Maurise Saur from iMove Traumatolog- and supervised by team doctor Joaquim Terricabras.

The surgery -lasting an hour- was carried out successfully and Bou is already in the post-operative phase.

The estimated waiting time to begin the recovery process is about ten days, according to the doctors’ recommendations. It is expected that Bou will be able to get back onboard a bike in around three weeks, to continue with his preparation for the season.

The TrialGP World Championship will start on June 12-13th in Tolmezzo, Italy. It is hoped that Bou will be able to participate in this first round in the best possible condition.
