Pol Espargaró and Stefan Bradl ready to commence second half of 2022 season

Following the summer break, the Repsol Honda Team return to action this weekend at the British Grand Prix.

Pol Espargaró and Stefan Bradl will be back in the MotoGP paddock this weekend, following a month of July in which they have mixed holidays with training. Ahead of them are nine races before the end of the 2022 season, including flyaways and European rounds.

The series heads to Silverstone for the first appointment back. Espargaró resumes the season having recovered from a rib injury that he suffered at the German GP, which forced his absence from the final race before the break, in the Netherlands. The Spaniard intends to repeat his form from last year at the British GP, where he took his first MotoGP pole and his best result to date at Silverstone in the premier class. He has a win and a further podium at the track in Moto2 and 125cc, respectively.

Stand-in rider Bradl has also used the summer to rest up and prepare. Despite having not competed at Silverstone since 2016, the German holds a win there from his time in Moto2.

POL ESPARGARÓ

“I have had a good break, being able to recover from the rib injuries in Germany and get back to training. Last year we had a great weekend in Silverstone and I will working hard to try and recapture that result, but there’s work to do. It’s a track which suited us last year so hopefully we can start this second part of the year better than the races before the break. It was a great break but now I am ready to get back to racing and the Repsol Honda Team.”

STEFAN BRADL

“We come back to racing after a good break. It has been a little bit of time since I raced at Silverstone so getting back up to speed around the track will be one of our first jobs. Then we can get into the real work of the weekend and see what is possible. It is good to be back racing, the break was nice but there is nothing like racing in MotoGP.”
