The Repsol Honda team rider suffered a crash during the seventh lap while fighting for the rostrum.
The sixth round of the MotoGP season took place at Mugello, and was one of the toughest in terms of results for the Repsol Honda Team.
Marc Márquez, who was second on the grid, started the race with some problems but remained in the podium positions. However, on Lap 7 he suffered a crash that took him out of the race.
Márquez was fourth when the incident occurred, and was unable to remount.
The Repsol Honda Team will be back in action next week at Sachsenring for the German Grand Prix, the seventh round of the year.
MARC MÁRQUEZ – DNF
“Today I was riding really well and with some margin, I was feeling comfortable and not stressed. I saw Bagnaia and Martin had escaped so I focused on staying with Marini in that group and try to achieve my goal of the top six or seven. I had a moment at Turn 10 on the first lap and then again going into the last corner before I fell. Right now we need to keep improving and keep working. Fortunately, I was not injured in the crash today and we have another race next week so it gives us a chance to keep working.”
