The Repsol rider analyzes what he considers one of the most beautiful and difficult circuits of the World Championship
Known for its fast bend, many of them linked, the Mugello circuit will held this weekend the Italian Grand Prix. The whole Repsol Honda Team will compete in this new round of the World Championship, but one of its members, Andrea Dovizioso, will live this round with special feelings. The Italian will be able to ride the RC212V again in his home land, supported by the tifosi, who cheer their riders from the green hills surrounding the Tuscan circuit.
The Mugello circuit is a very technical track and its main features are, for Andrea Dovizioso, its speed, its width —14 metres— and the famous ‘s’ bends, two consecutive ‘esses’ that link a right-hand bend followed by a left-hand bend —or vice-versa—. This circuit features some of the most beautiful and difficult corners of the Championship, such as Arrabiata 2, which the Repsol rider thinks make the Italian track an unique circuit. To add to it all, there is a 1.141 metres straight, the longest of the Championship, where the riders reach speeds over 330 km/h.
The next weekend, Andrea Dovizioso will be back to a circuit where he has gathered some good memories since he visits it on Repsol livery. In 2009, the Italian finished the race in fourth place, only 53 thousandths away from a podium that he would achieve the following year, after finishing in third position despite starting eighth from the grid. This season, the Repsol rider arrives in full form to his home Grand Prix, after having achieved three podiums in the last four races and strengthened his third position in the Championship.
