At the debut of the European Talent Cup, with riders from 13 to 17 years old, the winner of the first race was Simon Jespersen, on a podium completed by Alex Toledo and Manuel Gonzalez. In the second race, victory was for Andreas Perez, ahead of Manuel Gonzalez and Joan Uviña.
Jeremy Alcoba – Moto3 race winner
“Since we arrived to the tests we did a good job and we kept improving. We found a complicated weekend due to the rain, but we were able to be fast both on wet and today on dry. I started a bit behind, but we had a good strategy and I took risks during the first lap. I looked back and saw that Makar [Yurchenko] and I were alone, so I decided to push, but without too much risk. I’m very happy with this win and I want to thank everyone who supported me.”
Hafizh Syahrin – Moto2 race winner
“I’m very happy with the job of the team and this gives us a lot of confidence for next week. The practice was on wet, but today we tried to get a good setup for dry during the warm-up. I had a few difficulties at the beginning of the race, with some spinning, but I tried to understand the problem and control it. We need to keep this good direction also next week in the World Championship.”
Simon Jespersen – European Talent Cup first race winner
“In the first two laps, I didn’t feel completely at ease, but in the last laps I knew the weak points of those around me, so I kept calm and was able to take the first position. The Championship has just started and I had nothing to lose. I’m very happy with this win.”
Andreas Pérez – European Talent Cup second race winner
“I’m very happy with this first win. In the final stretch I closed my eyes, pushed to the max and I was able to win. I want to thank the team for this result, as they worked hard the whole weekend, and also my family and the sponsors that support me. It’s a very happy moment for me.”
