Aleix Viu takes his first win and Raul Fernandez increased his lead

Viu dominated the fifth visit of the FIM CEV Repsol to the Le Mans Circuit by achieving his second pole position and his first win in Moto3.

The fourth race of the Moto3 Junior World Championship finished with a victory for Aleix Viu, who set the fastest time in the Qualifying, after crossing the finish line alone, more than two seconds ahead of his rivals.

Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura, second and third respectively, completed the podium. With this result, the rider from Madrid increased to 20 points his advantage in the overall championship classification.

The next round will take place in three weeks, on June 10th, at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, where the three categories will compete together again: the Moto3 Junior World Championship and the Moto2 European Championship – with two races – and the European Talent Cup –with only one race-.

Aleix Viu – Moto3 race winner

“At the beginning, the race was quite complicated, as there were many riders together. By mid-race I tried to increase the pace to make the group smaller, but I didn’t think I’d be able to go alone, as Raúl [Fernandez] and Ogura were very strong. It was difficult to keep the pace and concentration riding alone for so many laps. In the end, I was able to take my first win and I’m very happy.”
