Second day of the US Motorcycle Trials and second double success in the same weekend for the Repsol-Montesa HRC team, this time with a victory for Toni Bou. Takahisa Fujinami, the previous day’s winner, finished second on this occasion, just five points behind his teammate. With these results, Bou has increased his advantage topping the general classification, which he leads by seven points, and Fujinami is second. In the brands category, Montesa stands out as the leader.
The rain fallen during Saturday night made this second day in the American World Championship more difficult, and the points scored were much higher than during the first day. Fujinami got off to a powerful start and looked fit to repeat last Saturday’s victory, though a few mistakes nearing the end of the first round meant he lost his advantage over Bou.
