Aragón provides third home race challenge for Márquez and Lorenzo

The Repsol Honda Team riders compete in Spain for the third time this season, just one week after the victory for Márquez at Misano.

Marc Márquez comes into the fourteenth round of the season with his biggest advantage in the overall standings to date: 93 points.

Since the inauguration of MotorLand Aragón in 2010, the current MotoGP World Champion has accumulated five wins at the circuit: One in Moto2 (2011) and four in MotoGP (2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018).

Jorge Lorenzo also holds victories in the Aragón GP: He was the winner in both 2014 and 2015, as well as placing on the podium in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2017.

MARC MÁRQUEZ

“After a fantastic win in Misano I am excited to race again, especially in Aragón where I really feel like I am at home as it is so close to Cervera. It’s where the most people from my hometown come to watch and always the fans help to give me something extra. We have a good lead in the championship but it doesn’t change how we approach the weekend, we keep pushing and trying to achieve our maximum. Let’s see what happens in Aragón!”

JORGE LORENZO

“Aragón is a circuit I like and have had some good results at in the past and in Misano we started the weekend well so I am hopeful we can be strong in Spain. Our objective is to keep closing the distance to the front as I improve physically and finish better than we did in Silverstone and in Misano. It will be good to race in front of the home fans before we begin the tour overseas.”
