The Repsol Montesa Honda Team riders, Toni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami, achieved today in Penrith a 1-2 in the first day of the FIM Trial World Championship’s British Grand Prix. With this success, the fifth of the season, the rider from Piera increased by seven points his advantage in the lead of the overall standings, while his team mate recovered the third position.

Toni Bou had nearly secured this first day of the British GP after two amazing laps, where he already achieved an advantage of 16 points over Takahisa Fujinami. The Japanese rider dominated the rest in the third and last lap, achieving the lowest points of the day, tied with Bou.

Tomorrow, the second day of the British Grand Prix will be the third from last round of this year’s World Championship.

Toni Bou
“It was very important to win again and get the fourth victory in the last five rounds. Also that my team mate finished second, as this way he took away two points from my main rival in the battle for the title. We are on the right path and tomorrow will be an important day again, as the expected rain might increase the difficulty and leave the zones under conditions where I feel good and that I enjoy a lot”.

Takahisa Fujinami
“I did my own race, as the starting position prevented me from having any reference from my main rivals. In the first lap I made a couple of mistakes, but I kept the concentration. In the second, as it seemed it was about to rain, I did what I thought was best and the third was great. I felt very confident on the bike. The team worked a lot on it since the last round and this is the best way to thank them”.
