The Repsol Honda rider achieved his ninth victory in Barcelona – the seventh consecutive victory there – and reinforced his lead two rounds before the end of the World Championship. Jaime Busto was eighth in his debut.

After the second position achieved in Pau a month ago, this evening Toni Bou recovered his place by winning and set a new record at the Barcelona X-Trial. The Repsol Honda rider became the most successful rider, with the most consecutive victories in Barcelona –seven– beating the record set by Jordi Tarrés. His team mate, Jaime Busto, made his debut as Repsol Honda rider and finished eighth in his first round of the World Championship.

Bou had today another glorious evening at the Barcelona Trial. The several times champion went back to his winning ways with a very close victory. The rider from Piera used his talent to finish the 6 demanding zones of the final lap with only 6 penalty points. A result that allows Bou to increase his margin in the lead of the Championship by 13 points.

17-year-old Jaime Busto made his debut today in an X-Trial World Championship round and he did so also wearing for the first time the Repsol Honda livery. The young rider, who participated as a guest, achieved the eighth position at the Palau Sant Jordi, which gave him his first point of the Championship.

The next round of the X-Trial World Championship will be next March 14th, in Austria.

“It was fantastic to achieve this victory at home. Adam [Raga] put a lot of pressure on me in a very technical race, where it was important not to make mistakes. I’m very happy about how it went. We were very nervous but we achieved a very important victory, because if Adam had won he would have been very close in the championship classification. But everything went well and I must congratulate the team that did a fantastic job”.

“I’m very happy to have been able to take part in the Barcelona Trial. I felt quite good on the bike, but it was difficult to open the zones, because I had never participated before in an X-Trial Grand Prix and I lacked experience. The level of the zones was very high and I’m proud to have been among those Champions”.
