The rider from Barcelona won the first race and secures the Superbikes title, taking victory again in the second race. In Moto3, victories for Albert Arenas and Niccolò Bulega, who takes the lead for injured Arón Canet and Xavi Vierge wins in Moto2.

The rain forecasted for today did not appear at the Jerez Circuit during any of the races held, and not even the high wind could prevent the riders from giving a great show on track. In the first race of the day, Carmelo Morales won, securing the Superbikes title. Morales also won in the second race of the biggest displacement category.

In Moto3, Niccolò Bulega leaves Jerez as the new leader of the Championship, four points ahead of Arón Canet, who missed the two races held today due to an injury, in a day where Joan Mir crashed and saw her chances to get the title reduced. In Moto2, Xavi Vierge’s victory places him 21 points behind the leader Edgar Pons, who will fight to keep that margin in the two last races in Valencia.

The last and decisive round of the FIM CEV Repsol will take place in two weeks, next November 14 and 15 at the Comunitat Valenciana Circuit. Moto3 and Moto2 will have two races and Superbikes one.

Moto3 Junior World Championship

The FIM CEV Repsol in Jerez left the classification of the Moto3 Junior World Championship very close. Arón Canet’s absence in the two races held today due to an injury allowed his rivals to close on him, and the Italian rider Bulega was able to take the lead of the Championship thanks to the win and second place he got today. Albert Arenas had same combination of results and is now third overall, 25 points behind Bulega, with 50 still up for grabs. Joan Mir, who finished third in the first race and crashed in the second, fell from second to fourth, 28 points away from the lead.

In 15 days, the 50 points to be achieved in Valencia will decide the Junior World Champion in an exciting finale where up to 4 riders could get the title.

Moto2 European Championship

In the first laps of the intermediate category, Edgar Pons found hard to pass Japan’s Tetsuta Nagashima and they both fought for the lead of the race exchanging positions while Xavi Vierge observed from third place. Some laps later, Pons lose terrain and fell to third, while his rivals Vierge and Nagashima escaped on their own to fight for the final victory until the very last corner. The rider from Barcelona arrived first and the Japanese did his all to pass him, but he overdid it and Vierge recovered the lead passing through the inside and flying to his fourth victory of the year.

Edgar Pons, third today, keeps the overall lead, but Vierge got just 21 points away after his success today, while Alan Techer is third, 88 points behind and out of the fight for the title. Pons and Vierge will battle for the Moto2 European championship in the 2 races that will take place in 15 days at the Comunitat Valenciana Circuit.

Superbike European Championship

The first Champion of the FIM CEV Repsol arrived for the biggest displacement category. Carmelo Morales secured his fifth title in the championship in the best way: by adding two wins to his tally at the two races held today in Jerez. The rider from Barcelona dominated the Superbikes class, taking seven wins this season with one final race to go in Valencia in two weeks.

In that meeting, the rider from Venezuela Robertino Pietri, second overall with 128 points, and the rider from Valencia Adrián Bonastre, with 125, will fight for the runner-up spot in the Superbikes category.

Albert Arenas

Moto3 first race winner

“We reflected the work we did during yesterday’s practice sessions when we rode alone and with some wind. Today we kept Niccolò [Bulega] and Mir’s pace. After the first laps we started to overtake and I could be quite comfortable until the end, when I had some tyre wear that made me suffer. I saw that they were braking very late since mid-race and I thought they would do it even more in the end and it happened. In the last corner, I had a good reference and they overdid it a bit, so I could take advantage of my corner speed to win. I’m very happy and I want to thank the team for their job.”

Niccolò Bulega

Moto3 second race winner

“It was a beautiful race. Unfortunately, Mir crashed and Albert [Arenas] and I were leading. I was behind Albert but later I was informed that the group behind us was catching up and I decided to pass him and push at 110%. In the end we achieved the victory. This year we didn’t have too much luck, but now I like the bike a lot and with the team we’re working better and better, improving in every race.”

Xavi Vierge

Moto2 race winner

“Edgar [Pons] was ahead of us all the weekend, but yesterday afternoon I felt very comfortable on the bike and set my fastest lap with used tyres, because it started to rain and I couldn’t use the new ones. I knew we had done a good job and today it went well. I could place myself among the leading group. In the first lap I had a scare and nearly crashed. Had to calm down because I was too aggressive. I was able to take the lead and push until the end. When I got to the last corner, I knew Nagashima would try and I had to brake as late as possible. I trusted my strategy and when I heard him I decided to stop and wait for him to overdo the corner to pass him again through the inside and won. I’m very happy, because the weekend didn’t look as good as it ended.”

Carmelo Morales

Superbike first race winner

“I’m very happy with the work we did this year. I’m proud because the key was the start of the season we had, in which my team was very motivated with the new bike. In the second race of the year the bike was already very good and I also felt well from the beginning. Today it was a bit difficult due to the wind and I tried not to make mistakes. We were able to secure the Championship, with was the aim of the season and now we can enjoy the last races”.

Carmelo Morales

Superbike second race winner

“In the second race I finished happier than in the first, because my arms felt locked and in the last race I was afraid it would happen again. I tried to take the race calmly, specially at the beginning, but when I saw I was comfortable and Max [Scheib] was skidding, I attacked at the right moment. I also saw some thunderbolt and it could start raining. I’m very happy with the season and with my team”.
