Moto2 World Champion Marc Márquez and Spanish Champion Álex Márquez are celebrated in their home town.
Once again, the small population of Cervera —Lleida— took to the streets this evening to celebrate the success of its two most famous sons: Marc and Álex Márquez. The Moto2 World Champion and his Spanish Championship-winning brother were given a warm homage by their neighbours and fans over the course of more than three hours.
First up was an official event at Cervera town hall, in which both riders signed the Book of Honour and were given a gift by the council to commemorate the day. Then, the party started. The Márquez brothers enjoyed a show of affection from their fans in a cavalcade through the centre of the town. The journey concluded at a specially prepared stage, where the stars of the show spoke a few words to those present.
When the party dies down, the Repsol riders will enjoy a brief rest ahead of the final race of the season: Next weekend at Valencia from November 9th-11th.

“I am very happy, because in these events you can see how much the people show their appreciation. I try to show them that they are important to me as well, as without them it would be a little more difficult and I am always grateful for the push that they give me.”

“It has been a very special day. We have been able to enjoy the titles won by myself and my brother, alongside the entire town. His is more important and he deserves more of the spotlight, but to see the people lining the streets is a source of pride and extra motivation. Now we will rest up and prepare for Valencia.”
