Marc Coma caresses the triumph of the stage
He´s already in eleventh position in the overall classification in spite of a small fall
Marc Coma has been third in the sixteenth stage of the Rally Dakar and ascends to the eleventh position in the general. Comma was close to win the last special of the rally, since he was leader until the last part. However, after the re-fuelling, Coma, Fabrizio Meoni and Lundmark were lost in a valley that did not have exit. Meoni was first in realizing and returned on his steps. Coma did the same and, when he tried to recover the lost time to the crossing in which he had followed the wrong way, underwent a small fall. In spite of everything, he finished third by third consecutive stage, and he has placed himself in eleventh position of the general, in front of also Spanish Jose Manuel Pellicer. I got a bit nervous when I got lost, because I knew that by then I was in first position, and that´s the reason why I fell. I need more experience in this race! I have arrived with Meoni and Lundmark at a crossing that was to the right, and we have done it to the left. The situation was a little disordered, because Lundmark wanted me to go on and I wasn´ sure and then we got lost. When I have realized that Meoni had returned, we had already lost time. When returning I hit a stone that was behind the grass. It´s O.K. The goal was to finish the race and to learn, and there are only 34 kilometers left, declared the pilot of Avià when he arrived to Sharm El Sheikh, where tomorrow the final exhibition´s section will take place.
