The Valencia GP will be the last race of Dani Pedrosa’s career, after 18 seasons in which he has become one of the riders with the most victories of all time.

On Thursday at 4pm, the MotoGP World Championship will pay homage to Dani Pedrosa. The Repsol Honda rider will be named a MotoGP Legend on the eve of his final race, ending a career in which he has achieved three world titles, 54 race wins and numerous records. The winner of last season’s Valencia Grand Prix will sign off at a venue where he has typically achieved strong results in front of his home fans.

Pedrosa has been a top MotoGP rider since his 2006 debut with the Repsol Honda Team. After three consecutive titles in 125cc and 250cc, he has earned 31 victories in the premier class, putting him among the ten riders with the most wins in history and surpassing World Champions such as Kevin Schwantz, Wayne Rainey and Kenny Roberts. Last season he became the first rider to achieve at least one Grand Prix victory in 16 consecutive seasons, and moved level with Giacomo Agostini as the only two riders to win a premier class race during consecutive 12 World Championship seasons.
