Dani Pedrosa visits Repsol’s Industrial Complex in Puertollano

Just 24 hours after his visit to Gran Canaria Dani Pedrosa went to Repsol’s Industrial Complex in the town of Puertollano, there he met and spoke to the workers and about one hundred children, personally giving them all a chance to get really close to their ídol. During his visit Pedrosa went to one of the Repsol chemical plants that produces some of the materials that are used as components on his competition motorbike and on his equipment.

The filling on his seat, made with polyurethane foam, various tubes, made of polyethylene, his helmet, made of polyurethane foam, the fairing, made from methyl methacrylate, the grips on the handlebars, made of polyurethane, the mudguards, made from polypropylene and glass fibre, and many other components on his bike are all developed at Repsol’s Industrial Complex in Puertollano.

Afterwards Pedrosa went to the racing motorbike exhibition created by Repsol – taking advantage of this week’s fair in Puertollano – on the Paseo de San Gregorio in the same town. Dani Pedrosa, one of the two Repsol Honda Team riders, was received by hundreds of fans and he thanked them all for the warm reception he received in Puertollano.

There the young Repsol rider discovered some of his old motorbikes as well as other historical models, which decorated in the colours of the Spanish multinational had achieved great success. There were five bikes on display in total.

The  Honda RC212V that Dani Pedrosa was MotoGP runner-up on in 2007, the Honda RC212V 2008 which was ridden to celebrate Repsol’s 40th anniversary in the World Championship in the Comunitat Valenciana GP, the World Championship winning Honda NSR 500 from 1997 that was ridden by Mick Doohan, and the KTM 690 Rally from 2005 that Marc Coma became World Cross Country Rally Champion on and which he rode to victory in the Rally Lisbon – Dakar, as well as the Montesa Cota 4RT that Toni Bou rode to become World Indoor and Outdoor Trial Champion on in 2008 were the five machines on display.

After two intense days of visits to Gran Canaria and Puertollano, Pedrosa will have a short break before travelling to the French city of Le Mans next week to participate in the French GP, the fourth round of the 2009 World MotoGP Championship.
